Types of veneers
Composite
| |
Composite veneers are made usually directly in the surgery onto the tooth, there may or may not be some preparation involved in cutting the tooth. Like all composite material the composite veneer does have a limited lifespan and it is important to the patient to go in and have regular check up to maintain the work in good condition |

Porcelain
| |
Porcelain veneers are made in the laboratory and involve a more extensive process than composite veneers, quiet often local prepartion of the tooth is required to obtain enough space for the porcelain to be bonded as shown in the animations above. When sent away to a laboratory there is a much better finish and longivety of the product, however you still do need to be careful with the veneers as they can chip if you abuse them. |
